Description

Five different letterheads for Hugh T. Hart, inventor of the Hartophone, early twentieth century, the pink hue may have been bleeding from the blue ink as these papers found in a bundle shows sign of water damage with a red penetration stain on the verso. There is no mold and some folds were reinforced professionally.
Notwithstanding the lack of information about this musician, and his instrument, the fact that theses exist at all is quite extraordinary, condition noted.
One letterhead located  Spartanburg, South Carolina as a return address, another uses the newspaper  “New York Clipper” as a return address, and yet another with the place En Route 190. , with a Chicago permanent address at Harding’s. I wish I could tell you more about Mr. Hart but I can’t, one can only imagine his adventures. It’s feasible he would have used these as placards in the towns he travelled to.
