    I am the original owner of this canister filter. I bought this filter brand new at my local PetSmart about 6 months ago. I only opened the box to assess dimensions for my aquarium cabinet, but have since decided to invest in a different filter system. Having opened the box I am unable to return the filter, which is why I'm selling it online. ALL ITEMS ARE BRAND NEW AND HAVE NEVER BEEN USED.
    I’ll also include (FREEBIES) 1 additional Marineland brand carbon media bag (retails ) and 1 pre-filter sponge for the canister’s intake tube (retails from Aquarium Co-Op).
    PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS BELOW:
    1) This powerfully designed filter offers a top-sealing gasket for a strong seal with an easy-to-remove lid for access to media baskets - just lift up for easy removal. Water flows through, not around, media layers for total mechanical, chemical and biological filtration. A quick-prime button fills the filter chamber with water for self-priming startup, while a quick-release valve block shuts down water flow immediately and separates from the motor housing for quick, spill-free filter maintenance. Suited for aquariums 55 to 100 gallons.

    2) The large pre filter sponge is designed for larger hang on back filters and canister filters. Adding a pre filter sponge adds to your filtration capacity and extends the life of media in your filter. By filtering out food, small fish, snails, and debris, filter media like Purigen and fine filter pads last longer. This pre filter sponge is made from coarse foam which extends the time between cleaning and prevents strain on the filter motor.
