    Brass Knife Thread Inserts
    STI Brass Threaded Inserts are for wood and plastic. They are a high quality solid brass insert that works great in both hard woods and soft, like oak, cherry and maple and pine. They create a strong machine screw thread that is ideal for assembly or disassembly. The external knife thread cuts easily into the wood and holds tight making a strong fastening point. The slotted end is for cutting into the material. A socket head cap screw with two nuts is the best installation method for installing the inserts. Some people use the slotted end with a screw driver. We don’t recommend that method because the slots can break. Also the inserts may go in crooked.
    Recommended installation hole diameter is 21/64".
