    WOW HERES A RARE ONE!!!!! Up For Auction is a True Temper Kelly Works Puget Sound/Falling Pattern Axe. Marked W.P.A. on head and the handle. WPA stood for Works Progress Administration and it was created under Franklin D. Roosevelt. Most call this pattern a Puget Sound Pattern but I have seen it called a falling axe as well. You call it what you wish. I bought this Axe about 6 years ago and put it online. It was on for one day and was up to close to 200.00, in the meantime my grandad who is now 91, asked me to keep it for awhile because he thought it was a rare piece and would look good hanging in the garage. He also remembered hearing of the WPA. So I took it off ebay and kept it. I have now decided to sell it and pass it on for someone else to enjoy. It does have pitting, and the blade edges are dull and not smooth. Has been sharpened and probably several times. Also has a number 4 on the head between WPA Stamping and blade edge. This is a super cool piece. I have kept watching ebay for 6 years and havent seen any other similar ones come up for auction. Possibly one of a kind. Handle is good but has seen lots of use. You're more than likely going to put it in your collection and not for use anyway. Head is almost 12 1/2" long. Head and handle 34 1/2 long. Please contact with any further information you may have. I would love to know more about it. The only thing I did to it was take a wire brush on a drill and lightly go over it to bring out the wording. I have no idea on value so sorry no buy it now price.
